Are you planning to travel and confused what documents to carry and which guidelines to follow. Let me tell you, it’s not that complicated. I have recently travelled with Indigo airlines on 6-12-2020 and I’ll share my experiences with you.
Mandatory Web Check-in
Government has mandated web check-in prior 48 hr to 60 min before flight. It’s completely free of cost.
Web check-in Links for different airlines:

Step 2: Passenger Page: You can select passenger seat or you can check-in through auto assigned seat.
Step 3: Select seat: Select your seat.
Step 4: Mandatory Health Declaration: Declare your health status online.
Step 5 : Web check-in successful
Documents
I have called customer care and she asked me to carry the following Documents:
- Printed Copy of Boarding passes.
- Printed Copy of Health Declaration Form
- Printed Copy of Baggage Tag
- ID Proof (Aadhar, PAN etc)
But you don’t have to worry if you didn’t carry hardcopy of the documents. You can show e-copy of your boarding pass using your mobile also. And Baggage tag can be generated inside airport. And even the health declaration form is provided from airport. But in my case no one checked the health declaration form.
But it’s advisable to carry all the printed documents as you never know when the security procedures changes.
State-wise regulations
Different state governments have laid out their respective protocols for passengers arriving at their airports. Before you travel, make sure to read and understand the complete guidelines of the city/state you are travelling to and comply with the same so as to ease your travel plans. Click here to download the customer support guide for state-wise regulations updated as of 03rd December, 2020. You don’t have to worry much. Just install Aarogya Setu app and you are good to go. On the Day of Journey
My journey details.
Airline | Indigo |
Date of Journey | 06-12-2020 |
Source | CCU (Kolkata) |
Destination | IXD (Prayagraj) |
Flight Number | 6e 7983 |
Seat | 15F |
- Before you enter airport your bags will be sanitized and then you’ll proceed to show your Boarding pass (E Copy or printed both valid) and ID proof to the security officer present there. Only here you need to lower your mask to show your face. (No one checked Aarogya Setu app in Kolkata airport)
- After entering you’ll proceed to you airline’s Kiosk machine (Machine which prints baggage tag and Boarding pass) to print your boarding pass if you are not carrying the printed copy.
- You need not print baggage tag in case of indigo as the Baggage tag will be attached by Indigo employee at the time of baggage drop.
- Then proceed to Baggage Drop and proceed to security(there is no change in security check-in process)
- After that proceed to your allotted gate and wait 🙂
- On Arrival there is no change, it’s same as before. You have to collect bags from your designated conveyer belts. That’s it.
Bonus tip for Kolkata departure passengers
If you reached early and you need a safe place to sit for some hours then proceed to ground floor and near Gate no. 106. You’ll find 100s of empty chairs 🙂
Happy Journey !
